The Illustrated Evolution of Music

The Illustrated Evolution of Music

Remember when it really mattered that there was only "one good song" on a record, because you had to listen to the whole "tape" in order to get back to the song you liked?  Ahhh, the good old days. We all know that the delivery of music has changed and evolved dramatically, particularly in recent years.  Digital Music News created this fascinating animated graph illustrating the changes between 1980 and 2010.  One surprising revelation to me was that cassettes only reigned supreme for about 8 years (1983-1990), whereas CD’s have remained at the top (albeit barely) for right at 20 (1991-2010).  Check it out at http://www.digitalmusicnews.com/stories/081611thirty.
