Artists' Compensation

The Senate held hearings on a proposed new bill that would require radio stations to compensate recording artists when songs are played on the radio. Right now stations only compensate the songwriters (by virtue of licensing agreements with ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC).  In my opinion, this bill is long overdue.
